Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Modo collects, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated: October 26, 2026.

Who we are

Modo is a service of Helpful Intelligence (Peter Van Dijck, Calle Circon 5, Madrid, Spain). We are responsible for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@modo.helpfulintelligence.co.

What we collect

  • Account data: your name, email address and login details. Login is handled by WorkOS.
  • Videos and their details: the videos you upload or import, with their titles, settings and share links. You decide what you upload, and you are responsible for having the right to use it.
  • Billing data: payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your card number.
  • Usage data: minutes stored and minutes streamed on your account, and basic information about how the site and app are used, collected with privacy-friendly analytics.
  • Messages: emails you send us, and emails we send you about your account.

Why we use it

  • To provide the service you signed up for.
  • To handle billing and account administration.
  • To answer your questions and support you.
  • To understand how the service is used and improve it.
  • To send you product emails you can unsubscribe from.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run Modo: hosting (Laravel Cloud), login (WorkOS), payments (Stripe), email, analytics, and video processing and delivery (Cloudflare). They process data on our behalf. We do not sell personal data.

Video processing and storage

Your videos are processed and stored by Cloudflare, through Cloudflare Stream, and streamed to viewers from Cloudflare's global network. Cloudflare acts on our behalf. A viewer's device connects to Cloudflare to watch a video.

AI assistants and the MCP server

If you connect an AI assistant to Modo through the MCP server, that assistant can read and change the videos and details in your account that you can access. What the assistant provider does with that data is governed by your agreement with them.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data, except what we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. Write to hello@modo.helpfulintelligence.co. If you are in the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell account holders by email.
