Getting started
Introduction
What Modo does, who it is for, and how to get a video from your machine to a player and a link.
Modo is simple video hosting you run from your AI agent. You upload a video, in the web app or by asking an agent such as Claude, and Modo gives you back a player embed and a share link. These docs explain how it works.
What is Modo?
Modo is a small, finished product on top of Cloudflare Stream. Cloudflare encodes your videos, stores them, streams them with adaptive bitrate from its global network, and provides the player. Modo adds an account, a library, embed codes, share links, private signed links, usage numbers and billing.
Who it is for
Modo is built for businesses with a modest amount of video and modest traffic: product demos in docs, a hero video on a landing page, a small course library, client videos. It is not built for live streaming, webinars, sales-video outreach or high-volume media apps.
The main parts
- Uploading videos: from the web app, from your machine through your agent, or by importing a URL.
- The player and embedding: the embed code and the share link.
- Public and private videos: public by default, private with signed links that expire.
- Connecting your AI agent: the MCP server, OAuth sign-in and the tools it offers.
- Usage and billing: minutes stored, minutes streamed, plans and overage.
Getting started
- Start your 15-day free trial. There is no free plan, and a card is needed to start.
- Upload a video in the web app, or connect your AI agent and ask it to upload one.
