Using Modo
Public and private videos
Videos are public by default. Make one private and share it with signed links that expire.
Public videos
New videos are public. Anyone with the embed code or the share link can watch. That is what you want for a demo on a landing page.
Private videos
Make a video private and it can only be watched with a signed link. A signed link carries a token, and the token expires. When it has expired, the link stops working, even if someone forwarded it.
Use private videos for course material, client work in progress, internal walkthroughs or anything you would not put on the open web.
Creating a signed link
Ask for a signed link for a private video, in the web app or through your agent. Send that link to the person who should watch.
Switching
You can switch a video between public and private at any time. Making a video private does not delete it, and links you handed out for a public version no longer work once it is private.
Not the same as an unlisted link
An unlisted video on some other platforms is hidden from search but can be watched by anyone who has the link, forever. A signed link expires, and the video itself stays unwatchable without one.
