Connecting your AI agent

Connect Claude or another MCP client to Modo, sign in with OAuth, and run your videos in plain language.

Modo has an MCP server. MCP is an open standard that lets AI assistants work with the tools you use. Connect Claude or another MCP client and you can upload, import, share, make private and delete videos by asking.

The web app does everything the agent can do. The agent is the faster way when you already have it open.

The server

The MCP server lives at:

Connect a client

Add Modo to your client as a remote MCP server using that URL. The first time you connect, you sign in to your Modo account through OAuth in your browser. The agent only sees your account.

Many clients take a configuration like this:

Claude, Codex and other MCP clients each have their own place for this. Check your client's documentation for how to add a remote server.

Tool	What it does
`list_videos`	Lists the videos in your library.
`get_video`	Shows one video: status, embed code, share link.
`create_upload`	Creates a one-time upload URL for a file on your machine.
`import_video_from_url`	Imports a video from a public URL.
`update_video`	Changes a video's title or settings, including public or private.
`delete_video`	Deletes a video.
`get_usage`	Shows minutes stored and minutes streamed against your plan.

Uploading a file from your machine

An agent cannot push a file through an MCP connection. Instead it calls create_upload, gets a one-time upload URL, and runs a curl command on your machine that sends the file to that URL. Your agent needs permission to run shell commands. See Uploading videos.

Keep an eye on what it does

Deleting a video removes it. Check the agent's plan before you let it delete or change many videos at once.
